In your opinion, which is the best golf course in the area and why?

El Paraiso. It has a reputation for being one of the friendliest courses in the area. The course was designed by golfing legend Gary Player back in 1973, and 50 years later, it continues to be one of the best courses and social hubs in the area. It has gorgeous views of the famous La Concha mountain and the Mediterranean, as well as Estepona where you can find some delightful restaurants too (Casa del Rey for tapas and wine and the rooftop bar at the Hotel El Pilar on the Plaza de las Flores are both a must-try).

Which local wines would you recommend that people moving to the area try?

In Spain you’re lucky enough that even going with the house wine means that you will get a decent glass. It’s something that a lot of places in Europe can’t compete with!
